Clamps mainly include wire clamps, cast iron clamps, DIN standard clamps, spring clamps, vacuum clamps, and various types classified by structure and application. Based on different materials, structures, and usage environments, clamps can be divided into multiple categories, each playing a unique role in specific working conditions.
Classification by Material and Basic Structure
Wire Clamps: Made of carbon spring steel wire or stainless steel spring wire, they feature strong clamping force and good sealing performance, widely used for hose connections in mechanical and chemical equipment, such as at the interfaces of ordinary rubber hoses and nylon plastic hoses.
Cast Iron Clamps: Produced through casting processes, they are mostly used for building pipeline installation, especially suitable for cast iron drainage systems in high-rise buildings. They can withstand 0.4MPa water pressure and have good sealing performance and ease of installation.
Classification by Function and Special Design
DIN Standard Clamps: Originating from Germany, these are modular duct connection systems suitable for clamp-type connections of circular ducts, eliminating the need for flange design. Built-in O-ring silicone seals resistant to 180℃ high temperatures, widely used in exhaust and dust removal, central air conditioning air supply, etc., with installation efficiency more than three times that of traditional flange systems.
Common types include:
Exhaust pipe clamps
Ventilation duct clamps
Material conveying pipe clamps
Quick clamps for cotton conveying pipes in the textile industry
Food industry conveying pipe clamps. Specifications cover φ80 to φ1000mm and above.
Spring clamps (Japanese style clamps): Made of 65MN spring steel, stamped and formed, with galvanized passivation treatment, salt spray corrosion resistance reaches over 800 hours. Quick installation and reuse are achieved by pressing the double ears, especially suitable for scenarios requiring frequent disassembly and assembly, such as automotive oil pipes and water pipes.
Divided into:
Standard type (with thickness 1–1.5mm)
Reinforced type (with thickness 1.5–2mm and above)
Vacuum clamps: Also known as clamp-type vacuum quick-release flanges, used in high-cleanliness or high-vacuum environments such as semiconductor manufacturing, aerospace, and biopharmaceuticals. It consists of an upper locking block, a lower locking block, a hinge block, a threaded post, and a clamping nut, supporting quick assembly and disassembly and reliable sealing. Common specifications are KF10, KF16, KF25, KF40, KF50, etc.
